Volunteer Program & Destinations
Volunteer for Art, Music & Theatre
About the program
If you have a passion for arts, theatre or other creative disciplines, this program will give you the opportunity to share it with the children of our communities with a lot of flexibility. During your involvement in the program you will be placed in our centre where you will have the freedom to set up a set of creative activities that you think would benefit the children and their well-being. These co-curricular opportunities, in this cultural travel for volunteer work, provide an emotional release to the adolescents, an opportunity to express themselves and a freedom that they do not feel during academic study. For example, children learn to approach situations in an array of different manners which can help to develop creative thinking and new study techniques. Moreover, creative expression through arts is a great way to build self-confidence and can be particularly beneficial for introverted and reserved children from underprivileged backgrounds. Volunteers in the past have organized many workshops including craft activities where manual skills are being taught and developed. Also knitting, drawing and painting are part of the activities and finally short theatre plays and even inter-team competitions to foster the children’s motivation and eagerness. Moreover, our team has enhanced the children’s teamwork and coordination multiple times through various dance sessions which brought them to present their choreography.
By joining our arts and music program, you will be part of a dedicated team for cultural travel for social work, whose artistic initiatives have helped to foster the children’s creativity and expression, made them work through group-based activities and therefore support their emotional well-being.
